Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

We Didn’t Expect This Sequel — And We Bet You Didn’t Either

After six years, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants plans a return to the silver screen. In the early 2000’s, Ann Brashare’s novels about a pair of nearly magical pants and a strong group of girls, resonated with young adult readers everywhere.  Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was so popular, it garnered a movie deal long before the YA rush of Twilight, Hunger Games and Divergent. Alloy Entertainment released Traveling Pants to theaters back in 2005 to moderate success, and a sequel followed in 2008. The actual series is 5 novels and…

More Pictures Surface from the Set of Avengers 2: Age of Ultron

Luckily for us, Mark Ruffalo is kinder to fans than his Science Bros counterpart, Robert Downey Jr.

Ruffalo, who played Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the first Avengers film and an end-credit scene for Iron Man 3, instagrammed a couple of pictures from the set of Age of Ultron.  Even better, the actor referenced the tumblr meme “Science Bros,” you can bet that launched a thousand shipper feels.

Robert Downey Jr. Tweets First Pic from the Set of Avengers: Age of Ultron

Unfortunately, I think fans had something a little better in mind when they requested a picture… You know, like maybe everyone in costume? Some potential spoilers? We should have known better. Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is currently in production, reuniting Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner. The highly anticipated film, written and directed by Joss Whedon, is expected to hit theaters May 1, 2015. (source)

Black Widow

Meanwhile, On Tumblr: THAT’S What Happened in Budapest!

This doesn’t need much explanation. We’ve referenced before how much fans are dying to know, “What Happened in Budapest?” based on all those references between Black Widow and Hawkeye in The Avengers. As it often happens, when left to their own devices, fans will create their own headcanons until the official story comes along. This is, easily, one of our favorites yet.

Game of Thrones Sparks a New Controversy

Sunday night’s episode of “Game of Thrones” featured one particular scene which called into question an entire character arc and left several outraged. In the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, “Breaker of Chains,”  viewers watched as, in the midst of a candlelight vigil for her son, King Joffrey Baratheon, Cersei Lannister was raped by her twin brother/lover/father of her children, Jaime Lannister. Several bloggers have taken to the internet to express their opinion about the scene, and how it deviated from the original content. Since…

Maybe you haven’t. But if you have, you wouldn’t be alone. Geekosystem caught up with everyone’s favorite Science Guy at SXSW this year and challenged him to a Historic Bow Tie-ing Competition. The results will leave you certain: tying all those Bow Tie’s over the years was not the job of Nye’s wardrobe guy.

“Boy Meets World” Is Back To Raise a New Generation

There’s a reboot coming your way — are you ready for it? For many of us 20-somethings (and older), growing up,  the TGIF lineup on ABC was an essential part of our weekend. This included Sabrina The Teenage Witch, the short lived Teen Angel and, of course, Boy Meets World. For this writer, tuning in every weekend for the latest adventures of Cory Matthews, Shawn Hunter and Topanga Lawrence was a necessity in my household. The show had it all, ranging from achingly relevant to hilariously impractical. It’s…

John and Sherlock

Sherlock Series 4 Seems to Grow Further and Further Away

In that casually elegant way of his, Martin Freeman sums up Sherlock Series 4: “Piss or get off the pot.” The actor recently revealed to Digital Spy that plans to film the fourth season of our favorite BBC crime drama have been, once again, delayed. This announcement comes on the heels of Cumberbatch’s statement in an interview with the Radio Times that he was “genuinely unsure” whether or not any future series’ would be made. And you though Moffat and Gatiss were the trolls to…

Wes Anderson

Forrester’s Take: Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel”

If there was ever a man who delighted in the whimsical joy and nostalgia of cinema, it would be Wes Anderson. Known for multiple films, the director excels at layering personality and wit amidst a refined vintage homage, and Anderson never fails to imbibe his cheeky nuance with color and personality. This writer has viewed a handful of his films, and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” didn’t fail to stray from the formula. The movie opens to a cheerful, barbershop quartet backed stroll through a snow-covered…
