As facebook was all too happy to inform you, yesterday was Star Wars Day, “May the Fourth be with you.”
In honor of the fan proclaimed holiday, JJ Abrams released a video selfie from London where he’s hard at work with Lawrence Kasdan finalizing the next Star Wars script. What was there to glean from the vid? Not a whole lot, other than to say that production is ramping up and casting announcements are continuing. Not that we’re still holding our breath for Zac Efron or anything, but the principal cast — it seemed — had all been announced.
We learned last Wednesday (2/30), that fresh faces like John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow will join Star Wars alums Carrie Fischer, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford in the highly anticipated seventh episode. It was assumed that these would make up the primary cast of characters in the upcoming film, but JJ Abrams sly hint has us second guessing. Is another big announcement on the way?
To be fair, it’s possible further news will only concern secondary characters played by lesser known (if not completely unknown) actors. But still. They’ve got our curiosity piqued. Stay tuned for further updates!
Star Wars Episode VII hits theaters December 18, 2015.
