Gal Gadot confirmed that she’s signed to do 3 movies as the iconic heroine, Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman is more than just a superhero; she’s the superhero. She’s larger than life, which might be the reason behind so many failed attempts of mere mortals trying to portray her on the small screen. She’s strong, she’s a moral compass, she’s beautiful, and she’s alien.
For the first time in over a decade, movie studios trying to breath life into Wonder Woman with Gal Gadot: former Miss Universe, an Israeli Army veteran, and Fast and Furious actress. It’s not an upsetting prospect; Gal Gadot has a lot going for her in this regard. She’s relatively unknown, which tends to work out swimmingly for iconic characters (obviously Christian Bale and practically all the Marvel actors aside), she’ll have an exotic appeal with her accent, and–let’s face it–she’s quite stunning.
All this in mind, Gal Gadot has also only been signed on for $300,000. We can think of plenty of things we could do with $300,000, but when Man of Steel brought in over $291 Million at the box office, it’s nothing short of a little insulting. It leads us to wonder how much screen time Wonder Woman will get. Speculation is that her introduction will be on par with Scarlett Johansson’s role in Iron Man 2.
In a world of Katniss Everdeen, Princess Merida, Anna, and Abileen and Minny, it’s upsetting to see this iconic figure being forced to ride on the coattails of equals. Larkable would love to have seen Wonder Woman’s debut in the hands of Joss Whedon, but even the fans know sometimes that’s asking for too much.
Regardless the circumstances, we’ll take it. We’re looking forward to Wonder Woman returning in the twenty first century. Her fans are anxious and hopeful, ready for this classic heroine to be revealed in 2016!
