Paul Bettany, the British actor who was in A Beautiful Mind opposite Russell Crowe, is set to play Vision in Marvel’s next Avengers movie, Age of Ultron
Articles are already pouring out: Paul Bettany is going to be the AI android, villain-turned-Avenger, Vision.
Bettany and Jeremy Renner were in London earlier this week for talks with Joss Whedon and in regards to their costumes and makeup, apparently. Paul Bettany’s role in the upcoming movie has been well under wraps, however it can’t be helped anymore. Honestly, we’re really OK with this leak, at least it gives us some idea of where the movie is going (even though we have a hunch).
Vision was created by the villain Ultron in order to fight the Avengers, but Vision wound up joining them instead. Scary thing, Artificial Intelligence; you never know when they will turn against you.
It should be said, this is all hearsay. None of these links in this article actually 100% confirm Paul Bettany is playing Vision, but it’s hard to disagree with all the evidence piling up. Besides, we’re a fandom site that reports gossip, trending news, and rumor, so this is technically right up our alley. And we’re looking for any excuse to write on Paul Bettany. Don’t say you haven’t admired him in something–be it from A Beautiful Mind, the creepy priest in The Da Vinci Code, or as Chaucer himself from A Knight’s Tale, he’s got a certain something about him that audiences love.
And if you don’t like his face, you at least enjoy his voice: Paul Bettany has been the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S since the beginning. Who doesn’t like J.A.R.V.I.S?
