Why haven’t I heard about this before now?
For some reason, NOAH has completely slipped under my radar.
NOAH’s all star cast looks wildly promising: Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, so on and so forth. If nothing else, the fans will most likely enjoy seeing all their favorite actors on screen together. However the trailer looks great, so I’m expecting it to be more than eye candy.
The flood myth isn’t exclusive to Christianity, it’s found throughout the world in varying cultures, but for the sake of argument, let’s say it’s probably the most well known version in Western Civilization. The fact that a movie will be covering this most famous of historic oral/written traditions practically gives me goosebumps. It’s like when 300 came out (btw, how excited are we all for 300: Rise of an Empire?); historic tales can be incredibly fantastic and studios can take liberties to make the story even more visually pleasing.
NOAH’s cinematography looks excellent, the effects aren’t too shabby, the cast is A-list, and the story is beloved. This catastrophic/end of the world movie at least is more uplifting than Pompeii; the message seems to focus on the family unit, belief in a better tomorrow, follow what you know in your heart is right, and basically, save the world to the best of your abilities. How do you not get behind that? We’ll see how the movie goes!
NOAH hits theaters March 28th 2014.
note: The feature image was photoshopped together from Google Images. Larkable refuses to leave Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson out of a title image. You go girls!
