Jennifer Lawrence Sings The Hanging Tree

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen singing ‘The Hanging Tree’ is one instance where the movie did the book incredible justice

If you haven’t seen Mockingjay Part 1 this clip won’t ruin anything for you, but it just might get you super excited for this particular scene!

There’s a moment in the book where Katniss is sitting in a tranquil outdoor setting in District 13 and is asked by one of her entourage to sing. She thinks about it for a moment and then starts to sing the perfect song at the right time.

It goes to show the Girl on Fire is the voice of the revolution.

While I personally have qualms with the movie, it is undeniable that this particular scene, while itself somewhat unimportant in the book, was goose-bump inducing in the theater. The studio did a brilliant job transitioning Suzanne Collins song from paper to screen and made ‘The Hanging Tree’ the vital part of the story that the author wanted it to be. Hats of to Lionsgate for making this moment chilling.

Not only that, but ‘The Hanging Tree’ has put our favorite leading lady Jennifer Lawrence on Billboards top 100 chart.

Why July 8th Was A Good Day on Facebook

For those who tuned in early in the morning on Facebook, the day did not disappoint. We really could have used that on a Monday, but whatever, we’ll take it on Tuesday too. Diagon Alley Officially Opened (image source via link below) Never before have I been to Universal Studios, but thanks to all my friends in Florida who got to preview the soft openings and articles like this pointing out Easter Eggs have made me add Orlando to my list of destinations. Rita Skeeter…

Meanwhile, On Tumblr: THAT’S What Happened in Budapest!

This doesn’t need much explanation. We’ve referenced before how much fans are dying to know, “What Happened in Budapest?” based on all those references between Black Widow and Hawkeye in The Avengers. As it often happens, when left to their own devices, fans will create their own headcanons until the official story comes along. This is, easily, one of our favorites yet.

6 Reasons Why We’re Cautiously Looking Forward to “Eleanor and Park,” The Movie

On Tuesday, Dreamworks Studios announced that it was picking up the film rights to the New York Times Best Selling debut novel from Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor and Park. Lately, YA fiction to film has been all the rage in Hollywood, from Veronica Roth’s Divergent, to John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns. When Rainbow Rowell’s  Eleanor and Park first hit shelves in 2013,  reviews hailed it as a “a beautiful, haunting love story” for young adults. Is this book for everyone? Of course not, few…

X-Men

The New X-Men Trailer is Here (and You’re Gonna Love It)!

Due out May 22, it feels like we’ve waited an eternity for a full length trailer of this epic sequel. And now that wait is finally, thankfully over. An unusual film, a sequel for two seperate movies occurring decades apart (X-Men: First Class and The Last Stand), Days of Future Past  unites actors Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy.  The extensive cast also includes Jennifer Lawrence, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult and Halle Berry, among many others. This inevitable blockbuster, directed by Brian Singer,…

Who Will Take Home a MTV Movie Award ?

The nominations for the MTV Movie Awards are out and we love who we see The Oscars are great. It goes without saying and usually it’s worth the watch (sometimes, not so much, but usually it delivers). But let’s be honest–we really look forward to the MTV Movie Awards because those are the movies that we’ve not only heard of, but we’ve also at least seen once, if not 2 or 3 times. Other fandom members should be pretty happy to see the nominees. Who…

Oscars 2014

And This Is How You Do 2014

The 86th Academy Awards didn’t disappoint last night. This year was great for movies and people everywhere just weren’t exactly certain who to put their money on for Best Actor, Best Actress, or Best Film. The 2014 Oscars were a little lower key than most people wanted, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say anyone was disappointed with the results. It was the year of the Selfies, the photobombs were plentiful, Ellen Degeneres ordered pizza for everyone and Brad Pitt helped hand out…

J-Law Dior

We’re Loving Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior Campaign

As a fierce voice for being true to yourself, Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior Campaign photo shoot actually does a good job holding true to her personality. Jennifer Lawrence is a wonderful, brave, and strong voice for women. It’s not easy being a leading lady in the Hollywood spotlight, but J-Law has been vocal about how our society needs to be nicer to girls, girls need to be nicer to each other, and girls need to love themselves. Jennifer Lawrence herself has set a great example, and…
