PSA: John Travolta and “Adela Dazeem”

Viewers everywhere last night were shocked, concerned, offended and amused when John Travolta announced Idina Menzel to perform “Let It Go”…and he totally butchered her name. As you might have expected, this launched immediate social media backlash. There’s the parody twitter account, the buzzfeed list of Travolta’d Celebrity Names, plenty of tumblr rants, and gifs galore. The Shameful Truth About The Oscars

Did you wonder why Catching Fire wasn’t nominated for an Oscar? So did we. In fact, let’s take it even further and consider why none of the Harry Potter movies, though nominated for cinematography, etc, ever won anything either. The Oscar selection committee is rather consistent in disregarding most book-to-silverscreen adaptations.
