The Hollywood Reporter announced that The Mortal Instruments will be renewed not as a movie sequel, but as a TV show (Image Source) So the question is: Would you watch The Mortal Instruments as a TV show? Our answer: Yes. Yes, we most certainly would. If Stargate: SG1 has proven anything, it’s that a TV series following a movie can actually out-do the movie itself. If Game of Thrones has proven anything, it’s that a book series translates better to the small screen rather than…
The First Law Series comes to an end with the incredible Last Argument of Kings. (Image Source) First it all began with The Blade Itself where we met our illustrious point-of-view characters Logen Ninefingers, Sand dan Glokta, Ferro Maljinn, Jezal dan Luthar, Collem West, and Dogman. Then in Before They Are Hanged we followed them through difficult peril over the vast reaches of the Union and beyond, well into the Old Empire. We got to see into the depths of their souls, and whether we…

The partnership between LEGO and Universal includes the release of several construction toy sets to be released in May, 2015 and…
Continuing in the First Law Series, Before They Are Hanged will have you hanging on to every word. (Image Source) Joe Abercrombie picks up directly following the ending to The Blade Itself, keeping to the point-of-view characters Superior Sand dan Glokta, Logen Ninefingers (or as we’ve come to recognize him, The Bloody Nine), Ferro Maljinn, Jezal dan Luthar, Major Collem West, and the Dogman. While we got a good introduction to the Dogman and Collem West in the first book, Before They Are Hanged lets us spend a little…

Meanwhile, on Tumblr, someone took the time to solve the problem Professor Snape gave Harry Potter on the first day of class. I think the results will absolutely break your heart. I know it did ours.
This is unbelievable, right? The thought that from the very beginning JK Rowling knew that Snape loved Harry’s mother brings on this whole new understanding for the way Snape treats Harry. He wasn’t just the difficult teacher and Rowling then adjusted Snape to fit the roll of the pining lover, but Snape was always pining after Lily. And he (and Rowling) had taken the time to put very serious clues into subtly revealing it.
For Potterheads, this is incredible. And heartbreaking. If Harry realized this riddle/problem at any point in his life, then no wonder he named his son after one of the greatest headmasters at Hogwarts. It’s a tribute to a formable foe yet friend.
Think on it Potterheads. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. You can at least blame the tears on something bothering your eyes.
Thanks to our friends Stuck with Harry Until The Very End for the image!
Open Your Ears To Joe Abercrombie’s first book from the First Law Series, The Blade Itself, narrated by Steven Pacey. The Blade Itself is the first book in the First Law Series by English fantasy writer Joe Abercrombie. The First Law Series is well known across the board so the books included in it are already outstanding, so how about the narrator, Steven Pacey? Amazing. Steven Pacey is amazing. The Blade Itself follows a few characters, all points of view told in third person. The…
We wrote on Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere before, and now that the Neverwhere adaptation has been released and we’ve had time to digest the content, we at Larkable have something to say about it. Usually this writer prefers actual audiobooks as opposed to adaptations, but this Neverwhere adaptation is unlike any other radio production you’ll hear. The stars of the BBC radio Neverwhere adaptation are James McAvoy (Young Professor Charles Xavier) and Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell). McAvoy gets to let loose with his full Scottish accent…
Ever wonder if you’re the hero or the villain? Or just who exactly you are? Thanks to Tumblr, Google Images, and the Internet in general, now you can have a little better of an idea with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). (Image Source) So what is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator? The MBTI is a psychological questionnaire that helps categorize people into different personality types to help explain how people perceive the world. While you can’t put people into boxes, a personality usually fits quite nicely…
A fanmade video for Fifty Shades of Johnlock has us more excited about old Sherlock than new Fifty Shades of Grey This writer personally sticks pretty strictly to cannon. However, this may be the best, most tasteful, most heartbreaking/heartswelling Sherlock fanmade video to come since
