Ever since Star Wars Episode VII was announced, I have been avidly avoiding anything regarding updates.

Today I cracked. And I Googled news about Episode VII.
It looks like it’s safe to say that the script has finally been completed, filming begins in May, and the release date is set for October 18th, 2015. Aside from that, everything is rumor.
One would expect a huge block buster such as Star Wars to be shown in High Frame Rate on an IMAX screen, right? Metro.co.uk quoted Abrams saying he would like to shoot in IMAX, but the “problem with IMAX is that it’s a very loud camera. It’s a very unreliable camera. Only so much film can be in the camera…you can’t really do intimate scenes with it.”
First off, please, please, please don’t do any intimate scenes for Star Wars. Second, we should all probably be bowing down to Peter Jackson for all his IMAX mastery. Clearly, it’s a different playing field.

Also, there are running rumors that Dame Judi Dench will be in the new Star Wars movie, and Benedict Cumberbatch, and Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, but nothing is confirmed. Going out on a limb, Larkable will say you can probably expect to see Anthony Daniels, but everything is strictly speculation.
And now enjoy some fan renditions of movie posters:
Now that we’ve broken, we’ll have to see how far down the rabbit hole Episode VII news takes us. Stay tuned!
UPDATE: Carrie Fisher confirms that she, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will be returning for Episode 7! Of course it’s not iron clad until an official press release from the studio, but why would Carrie lie? [1/23/13]
